A Sweet Treat!!

Last weekend my boyfriend spoilt me with some Cupcakes from Swinky Sweets, the new destination in Bristol to seek a sweet treat! It opened a few months ago at the bottom of Park Street and has been a worthy addition to the ecclectic mixture of shops and cafes there are there. The beautiful bubblegum frontage tempts at the delights hidden behind the door, and the sweet treats don't fail to impress. I was a little dissappointed with the decor internally, but hey it did open in the middle of a recession so I can't have everything.

The most important thing is the cupcakes and how they taste, we decided to try 4 different ones between us. The first was the Very Vanilla which tempted me with the pink icing and multi-coloured sprinkles, very pretty....
Then there was a Lemon cupcake which is my single favourite most cupcake flavour, and I hate to admit it but as a connoisseur of lemon cupcakes this didn't impress. It was just a little too sweet and sickly for lemon, there was no sourness in the lemon curd to contrast the sweet butteriness of the icing.

The next choice was a triple chocolate cupcake and Wow was this good! It had buttery sweet soft icing on top of a bitter chocolate sponge that was perfectly moist....

And well we saved the best to last a Cholcate Orange sponged atoped with bright red chilli icing, I am quite sad that I don't have a picture of this to share! It was by far my favourite cupcake!

If you live in Brizzle and haven't yet visited Swinky's it is a must! The little shop is a very welcome addition to the city that can bring a little bit of sweetness into everyone life!
