Lions, and Tigers and Bears! Oh My!!

The Wizard of Oz is one of my favourite films of all time, the use of technicolour to suggest a they are not in Kansas anymore is such a wonderful technique which allows us to fully appreciate the glorious Ruby Slippers! Now my first pair of shoes where a pair of red Startrite sandles which inevitably put me on the slippery slope of loving red shoes for the rest of my life, but not every day is a red shoe day. Sometimes you just need to express that ruby sparkle in other ways... step in Barry M....

The colour on the left is Red Glitter which doesn't seem to be available on the Barry M website in the UK, and the colour on the right is Bright Red. I used both to create my ruby slippers nail of the day, with a bottom coat of the Bright Red and a top coat of the Red Glitter, resulting in.....

The colour is completely opaque and vibrant and sparkly that I got totally distracted by my nails. So far I haven't chipped any but it has only been 2 days. Comparing them to OPI glitter polishes I feel there is very little difference in the quality, application was easy, they dried very quickly just 10 mins of drying and i was good to go. The major plus is the cost at only £2.50 each I can happily splurge on 2 nail varnishes without feeling guilty.

Anyways I love them and the sparkle so prettily!!! Happy!
