Roses are Red, violets are blue.... my lips are pink, yours can be too!!!

Ha, Ha, Ha!!! Such a dodgy title! I am clearly in a weird mood today!

Anyway I thought I would just do a quick blog on a couple of Rimmel London, lasting finish lipsticks that I picked up in boots last week. I have to admit I have never really been big on lipsticks as I have very pigmented lips and have never really been too adventurous with the old lippy.

The top pale pink shade is Pink Blush and the bottom bright pink shade is In Vogue. Each lipstick was £4.49 from Boots (purchased with my own money!)

For the last few months I have been on a mission to find a pale pink lipstick that lasts longer than 30mins, doesn't leave a gunky residue on my mouth and is a perfect shade that doesn't give me that walking dead look! I won't say this lipstick is perfect but it is pretty dam good, the finish is slight glossy and it is a very moisturising. It lasts for a good couple of hours before I needed to reapply it, and as it faded it did so consistently so I wasn't left with excess product in the corner of my mouth or a weird pink ring around my mouth!

Errrr facial hair!!! Dam the macro function!

The other shade is a vibrant bright pink, something that is a little out of my comfort zone as I usually go for reds rather than pinks if I feel like a splash of colour across my face. So I wasn't sure how much I was going to like this one!

The product applied really easily and consistently over my lips, it was a bit drying which is what I usually expect with long wear lippies but quite different from the pale pink formula. It most certainly needs to be applied with lip liner applied below to keep in place, as it seemed to go everywhere as I wore it through out the day on the edge of teacups and even on my fingers as I touched my mouth.

I will certainly not be relegating these lipsticks to the never wear again drawer and I might even try purchasing some of the other shades in the range!

Trying Something new....

This week I decided to give in and try a different foundation, over the years I have become a Bobbi Brown girl. I use two of their foundations at the moment both the Moisture Rich SPF 15 and Luminous Moisturizing Foundations. However after a brief holiday earlier this month my normal foundation is a little too light for my skin tone and I am not quite into my summer tinted moisturiser. Any excuse to buy something new!!

So I bought....
Yep, I gave in to the masses and purchased Revlon's Photo Ready Foundation in 005 Natural Beige, which is a tiny bit darker that the Sand shade I usually purchase at Bobbi Brown. It is a slightly more pinkie toned foundation so is really good for warming my skin up.

I am loving the pump action on the bottle, it makes for a much less messy application process. I have noticed right at the top of the bottle there appears to be a little colour separation going on, but this doesn't seem to have affected the product that is being dispensed.

I use flat foundation brush to apply my foundation and then I usually buff it out with a little powder. I felt this product need a little more work to get it to blend into my skin but when it was there it was really quite nice. My concerns over the glitter particles in the formula where unfounded, yes it is there but it is very sheer and illuminates my face. I even did the Twilight check by standing in the sunshine and asking my SO if I looked like a vampire (he didn't get that so I had to be a little more specific), his comment was that my face looked really smooth, but not too smooth that I looked like David Cameron (wax faced, British politician).

So in conclusion I give this product a thumbs up and I will probably be using this for a few weeks or at least until my skin colour fade back to the normal pasty grey shade!
